Expression Simplifying and Substitution Calculator

The Order of Operations Calculator is a powerful Java calculator which can simplify and evaluate an expression using order of operations, substitution, and by combining like terms. Below are guidelines for entering expressions into the calculator.

1. This calculator only works with expressions. (Expressions do not contain equal signs. If you would like to Solve an equation, use the Equation Calculator with Substitution Support.)
2. To show exponents in a term such as 3x², use the ^ symbol to enter the term like the following 3x^2. You can get the ^ symbol by pressing the shift and the number 6 at the same time.
3. Multiplication can be entered using the * symbol. To get the * symbol press shift and the number 8 simultaneously.
4. Use only lowercase variables such as x, y, a, k, etc. not X, Y, A, K, etc.
5. Enter variables and their values in the Substitution Box, one per line.
