...When I was younger, I even tutored one of my older sisters AND my father in algebra, as neither reached that level in high school. One of the things I emphasize is learning how to do basic math without the use of calculators. Calculators are great for some problems, like say 23.98342 x .00498, or for graphing multiple equations, but they were not designed for everything.
