...Instead of 2 column proofs, I find that students understand proofs of these concepts from drawings and practical examples. Of course, we can work on 2 column proofs if they are required or recommended by the classroom teacher. When helping students in trigonometry, I prefer to focus on how to derive the various identities rather than memorize.
