...I also took rigorous courses that taught me all the grammar rules, as well as the exceptions to every rule. Teaching ESL can be difficult due to the language barrier and differences in grammar/sentence structure between languages, but because I took ESL myself and spent years mastering a new language, I can relate to my students.
