...It is important to be able to understand the part of speech and usage of each individual word in a sentence. I find diagramming to be the best way to analyze and understand sentence structure, by adding a visual element to it and providing a clear way of organizing all the elements of a sentence. Diagramming isn't all there is to English, though.
