...Many of today's wondrous things exist because of chemistry. Much of introductory chemistry is an introduction to the periodic table and how these basic elements interact with one another. It took 3000 years for humans to figure out the relationships in the periodic table, so studying chemistry is a study of the history of human ingenuity.
